1. About this directory
The Chair Yoga Directory (“the Directory”) is a class listing service operated by Paula O’Connell of Chair Yoga for Seniors (“we”, “us”) at yogaforseniors.com.au.
The Directory helps people find chair yoga classes across Australia. We publish information about classes taught by independent teachers and organisations.
By using the Directory, whether as a visitor looking for a class or as a teacher or organisation listing a class, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
2. We are a class listing service, not a class provider
Teachers and organisations listed in the Directory are independent. They are not employed by, supervised by, partnered with, or agents of Chair Yoga for Seniors.
Inclusion in the Directory is not a recommendation, endorsement, accreditation or guarantee of that teacher, their qualifications, their insurance, or the quality or safety or suitability of their classes.
Any arrangement you make with a teacher or organisation, including booking, payment, attendance, is between you and that teacher or organisation. Chair Yoga for Seniors is not a party to that arrangement.
3. Health and safety
Chair yoga is a form of physical exercise. You should consider whether a class is appropriate for your individual circumstances.
If you have a health condition or injury, are recovering from illness or surgery, or have concerns about participating, you should seek advice from an appropriately qualified health professional before attending.
Participation in any class listed in the Directory is a matter between you and the teacher or organisation providing the class. The teacher or organisation is responsible for the delivery of their class, including its safety and suitability for participants.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chair Yoga for Seniors is not liable for any injury, loss or damage arising from your attendance at, or participation in, a class listed in the Directory.
4. Accuracy of listings
We do our best to keep the Directory accurate and up to date, but class times, locations, and contact details can change without notice.
Please contact the teacher or class organiser directly to confirm details before attending.
If you spot information that is out of date or incorrect, or find a broken link, please let us know at paula@yogaforseniors.com.au so we can update it.
We do not guarantee that any listing is current, complete or accurate, and, to the maximum extent permitted by law, are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on listing information.
5. Listing your class
The Directory is a directory of individual chair yoga classes. Each class listing relates to a particular class, identified by its location, day and time.
If a teacher offers more than one class, each class is listed separately.
Basic Listing — free
A Basic Listing is provided free of charge and includes the day, time, and location together with contact or booking details.
Featured Listing — $30 per class, per calendar year
A Featured Listing includes everything provided in a Basic Listing, together with:
- priority placement ahead of Basic Listings in relevant Directory results
- teacher photograph
- biography
- qualifications
- website link
- social media links.
The Featured Listing applies to one individual class. Teachers who would like more than one of their classes to be featured will need to purchase a Featured Listing for each class. Teacher information, including the photograph, biography and qualifications, will appear on each Featured Listing purchased.
Where there is more than one Featured Listing in the relevant Directory results, the order in which Featured Listings appear may vary.
The Featured Listing fee is $30 per class for the calendar year ending 31 December. Fees are not pro-rated for listings added part-way through the calendar year.
Featured Listings do not renew automatically. Teachers will be invited to renew their Featured Listings for the following calendar year.
Applying for a listing
To be listed, submit your class details through the application form on our website. We will contact you to confirm details and, for Featured Listings, arrange payment.
We review applications before publication and may decline or delay a listing where appropriate, including where information is incomplete or we have concerns about the information provided.
6. What we ask of teachers
By submitting a listing, you confirm that:
- the information you provide is accurate and current
- you hold appropriate qualifications to teach the class being listed and will provide evidence if requested
- you hold current public liability and professional indemnity insurance appropriate to your teaching activities and will provide evidence if requested
- you have the right to use and share any photograph, biography or other material you provide
- you will let us know promptly if your class details change or your class stops running.
We may request evidence of qualifications or insurance but are not responsible for independently verifying the qualifications, insurance, experience or suitability of every teacher listed in the Directory.
Teachers and organisations remain solely responsible for their classes, conduct, qualifications and insurance.
7. Payment and refunds
Featured Listing fees are payable in advance by bank transfer. GST is not charged.
Fees are non-refundable once a Featured Listing has been published, except where required under Australian Consumer Law.
If we remove a Featured Listing for reasons unrelated to the teacher or the information provided in the listing, we may provide a full or partial refund of the listing fee, where appropriate.
8. Changing or removing listings
You can ask us to update or remove any of your listings at any time by emailing paula@yogaforseniors.com.au.
We may edit listings for length, clarity, accuracy or formatting.
We may amend, suspend or remove a listing without notice if:
- the information is inaccurate or out of date, or we cannot reasonably verify it
- we receive credible concerns about the teacher, class or participant safety
- the listing breaches these Terms and Conditions or any applicable law
- the class is no longer running or the teacher or organisation is unreachable.
Removal of a Featured Listing under this clause does not automatically entitle the teacher to a refund. See clause 7.
9. Your information and privacy
Listings are public. Information provided for publication in your listing may include your name, class details, contact or booking details, photograph, biography, qualifications, website and social media links.
By submitting information for a listing, you consent to the information identified as listing information being published in the Directory and potentially indexed by search engines.
Please do not provide information for publication that you do not want made publicly available.
We may also collect information that is not intended for publication, such as correspondence and evidence of qualifications or insurance. This information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
10. Content supplied by teachers
Teachers retain ownership of photographs, biographies and other content they provide.
By providing this content, you give Chair Yoga for Seniors permission to use, reproduce and display it for the purposes of operating and promoting the Chair Yoga Directory.
You confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions to provide this content and allow us to use it for these purposes.
11. Links to other websites
The Directory contains links to teachers’ or organisations’ websites, social media accounts and third-party booking services.
We do not control these websites or services and are not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy or privacy practices.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The current version will be published on this page together with the date it was last updated.
